Humbled & Blessed

I sit here feeling completely humbled and blessed because of the outpouring of love and generosity we have received from our family, church and community friends. We truly do not know how to adequately thank each of you and simply saying Thank You! falls incredibly short of the mark. We thank the Lord daily for granting us the privilege & blessing of knowing each and everyone one of you! Please know that you have and continue to enrich our lives.

Amy finally got some relief from her back pain in the form of a new pain medication. Although it does make her somewhat sleepy, it does appear to be working. She continues to itch, but in my opinion/ observation, it doesn’t seem to be as constant nor does it seem nearly as intense. Our biggest prayer is that her BR level will be low enough on Monday for her to start the Chemo/Radiation treatments and that the stent will not become clogged anytime during treatment.

As the week winds down, I sit back and see that Vinny is well on his way to feeling better, Trevor had a slight set back today and stayed home from school, but seems to have kicked strep. Hope is on her way to feeling better as well, but she really had me worried for awhile (104.2 temp WOW!). Brittany never fell ill, but she can be really quiet at times and I worry that she’s internalizing all of this too much. Even Feliz our dog seems a bit out of sorts as she’s used to Amy holding her in her lap (because of the itching, she hasn’t done so), but instead remains content in lying on the floor beside our bed. Amy herself has had quite the week; two stents put in, expectations high, disappointment, frustration, anger, tears, sleeplessness, pain and yes…itching. But along with that came; prayers, support, visitors, well wishers, blessings and of course love. Me? My week was filled with keeping people informed, keeping just enough pressure on the doctors to keep them sharp, caring for Amy and the kids, running and picking up the kids, trying to keep life as normal for the kids as possible, keeping plugged into my faith and into my civic and occupational responsibilities and of course the blog.

As stated yesterday, this is a reminder for those of you who are going to participate in wearing something purple on Monday in support of Amy’s first day (hopefully!) of Chemo/Radiation treatment as well as support for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. I would just LOVE for Amy to see over 50 comments to the blog stating who will be wearing purple!

This is Amy's story as seen and told by me - V

I'll be wearing purple on Monday and it will serve to remind me to pray for you throughout the day. My severe joint pain the past couple days did not let me accomplish much physically but it did allow me to pray for both of you. God loves you soooo much and He will see you through this. Mary

The Endthoff's will be wearing purple also. Well what we have that is purple. Guess that would be 5 more to your count Vince. Thanks so much for sharing in this manner. I have been trying to find a perfect way without out feeling a disturbance to let you know that we are praying for you all. I know Amy is exhausted and "stopping by" would seem a disturbance to me. Glad to hear the kids are on the mend also.

God bless,
The Endthoff's

Hey Howard Family....

You can count the Lawrence's in on wearing purple on Monday! Matt even has a purple Great Wolf shirt to wear!! I think Andrew might have to borrow a shirt from Alex but he to will be wearing purple! We love your family deeply and are supporting your family every step of the journey. Please lean on us for anything and do not be hesitant to ask. I believe that God rejocies when his children are helping, supporting, and praying for each other. Continue to be strong for each other..."I can do all things through him who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13 and strong in your faith!

Love, The Lawrence Family

Vince and Amy,

Hey it's the Fish's. We definitely will be wearing purple on Monday.Aunt Gertie and I were at Walmart and we were discussing that we didn't have much purple to wear so I suggested looking for a purple arm band like what you guys have. Well of course Walmart only had one and of course you know who snatched it up! She was so generous to tell me that I could wear hers to work Monday night! I wanted to kill her. She did say we could leg wrestle for it! We are praying for all of you!!! I'm envious of your strength!!! Don't know how you do it. Please call for anything!!

Love

Vince & Amy,

So glad to have found out about this blogging thing.
What a good way for you to keep us all informed and for us to be able to communicate with you without interupting your household.
You can count me in for wearing purple on Monday.
It is my favorite color, so I have a lot to choose from.
Amy, it was so good to see you at the banquet tonight.
I am so glad you had the energy to come.
Know that you will be in our prayers.

Love, Theresa & Butch

Hi- I have been reading your updates daily and pray when I pass your house each morning. I could be available on a Wed or Fri if you need transportation to Madison for your treatments. I know others would make themselves available also. Let us know how we can help. Know that you do not have to face this alone. Your entire church family wants to come along side and support your whole family though this trial.

Blessings,
Susan T.

The Jordans are planning to wear purple for my sister! I continue to pray for healing and perseverance for Amy to keep up the fight for this nasty disease. Love, Sara

you know that the Millers here will all be wearing purple. Just remember Sue that I love you all so very much and miss you terribly. I so wish that I could take all of this from you. I love you so much. Bridge

"Well, I went to visit my aunt in Alaska last week, Juno."

"Of course I know her, she is my aunt."

"How is your uncle in upstate Alaska, Nome?"

"Of course I know him, he's my uncle."

Hey, could not start a comment without that skit to make you smile. We are missing you guys a lot down here in Missouri. Wish we were there to help you over this speedbump. Keep a good attitude. Aptitude and attitude will gain you altitude.

On this purple thing, I will do it, but under Packer protest since those are Vikings colors.

Speaking of purple, the entire countryside of Missouri is purple. Some flower grows here in the early spring and it like a weed, but bright purple and it is everywhere. God did that for you guys.

We Love you and have you in our prayers.

Vince and Amy,
You are truly an inspiration to many. I am so thankful that you have a great faith, it helps so much. I know, I've been there, and actually still depend on Him to carry me through each day. My prayers continue to be with your family.

God will see you through this. We'll be wearing purple to remember the Howard family and as a reminder to ourselves of the perfect power of God that sustains us through these times. Rom.15:13.

May God bless you with strength for the fight, endurance to run the race, and hope to lift your spirits.

Praying with you,
The Kendrick Family
