Prayer for tomorrow's scan
For the first time in several weeks, Amy took some of her pain medication yesterday to ease the pain she’s been having in her stomach again. This was on advise from her doctor’s nurse, whom Amy called yesterday to report her pain to. The medication made her drowsy and so she napped for a portion of the afternoon and left her somewhat groggy for the rest of the evening as well. At one point she looked me, weariness clearly etched on her face, and said, ‘I really thought I was done with this pain…’ Of course she realizes that there will be pain during her recovery and all that that will bring, but this pain is all too familiar, all too reminiscent of what brought us to where we are today, what brought us here to begin with. And just like being awakened out of a deep sleep by an unidentifiable noise, we’re startled…wide awake, waiting to ‘hear’ it again. We know that God is right there with us and that his immutable character is one of love and concern, but we’re human and this has added to our stress.
Tomorrow at around 2:00pm, Amy will be having her post Chemo/Radiation treatment CT Scan done. This scan is pivotal in determining the next steps in Amy’s coarse of treatment. Please remember to pray, offer up a prayer at this time if you are able, but pray. Pray that the images are clear and precise. Pray that the tumor would miraculously be no more or that the tumor has significantly shrunk. Pray that God would reveal himself to an unbelieving world.

Vince and Amy,
I know that you did not make Thursday a purple day but we are going to have it on anyways. I also plan to fast and pray. I have been praying that the tumor is just not there. That the doctors will call you amazed that it is gone.
Amy, we love you and know that God loves much more, I also know that God has a plan for you.

Amy and Vince, our prayers are with you two. It's a time of great trials for Amy now, and now more than ever, we all need to have faith, and pray for God's will to be done. I will be wearing purple and at 2 O'clock Eric and I will be praying for you. God Bless, Janie
Amy and Vince,
Thank you so much for both of your godly examples of wholeheartedly throwing yourself into the arms of God, regardless of the circumstances. It has had a lifechanging impact on me.
As I was reflecting on your amazing honesty and transparency in your blog, God started to bring to mind a long list of things that have happened as a result of your illness that I needed to thank Him for, despite all of our fears and concern-
1) God has caused many distant friends to reconnect with the two of you.
2) God has challenged many of us to alter the way we spend our time and money.
3) Because of your example, my life goals have been refocused on pursuing relationships with people, which have much more value than pursuing "things".
4) God's grace in my life is something I had to confess I had become accustomed to, and not treasured daily, as I became consumed with the "buzyness" of life.
5) We have seen through your marriage and family life a very positive model of Christ's impact on a home.
The list could and should go on and on and on of what God is accomplishing through your quest for a more intimate relationship with God. I was focused on my fears, and God urged me to acknowledge my fears and run in to His arms, then refocus on what good He is doing that I hadn't even noticed, amidst all of my fears.
We love each of you and treasure our relationship with you!!! May each of us learn how to have the same honesty and passion for God that you have developed over the years.
