The day after
Amy has had a great day! She has sat up in a chair twice and they even had her walk a short way. She tires easily, but she's been a real trooper and really only complained of some back pain (more than likely from laying on her back in one position most of yesterday). Pastor Dave came up for a short visit, it was really nice to see him and pray with him. He shared Psalms 138 with us, this is what it reads:
1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;
before the "gods" I will sing your praise.
2 I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your love and your faithfulness,
for you have exalted above all things
your name and your word.
3 When I called, you answered me;
you made me bold and stouthearted.
4 May all the kings of the earth praise you, O LORD,
when they hear the words of your mouth.
5 May they sing of the ways of the LORD,
for the glory of the LORD is great.
6 Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly,
but the proud he knows from afar.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life;
you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes,
with your right hand you save me.
8 The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me;
your love, O LORD, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands.
What an AWESOME message! and we DO praise God!

We especially like verses 7 & 8 of that passage. What a blessing to have a pastor who loves his flock! Good news that Amy has had such a great day. For some reason I thought she was going to have total bed rest for several weeks. We're praying that the entire tumor was contained in the tissue removed and that she won't have to have another round of chemo and radiation. Hey, God has done so much already, why should we think He won't do more?! Love to you both, D&B
Amy and Vince,
I am so happy to hear how well surgery went. Things sound so positive- prayers are answered, I have seen it first hand and I believe it is happening for you too! You both have shown so much strength through all this! I will keep praying for you all. Hang in there!

Just wanted to drop a quick line to let you know you've all been in my thoughts and prayers. Glad to hear the news was good after surgery. Thanks for allowing Andi and Jackie keep us all in the loop on your progress.

Well it's almost 11:30 and I can't sleep. I am so proud of you. You did so well with surgery and recovery. When I saw you this morning I was so proud of you for getting up and sitting in that chair and then when you laid down I wanted to crawl in bed with you but of course I could not. It was hard for me to leave you today as I feel so helpless here at home and you are there. Just remember that WE all LOVE you very much and know that you are on your way to being cancer free. Try and get the rest that you need and strength do keep going. Love you tons and miss you tons!!!!!! Bridge

The word for the day, and for this whole occasion, is "GLORIOUS"! Praise God for an incredible answer to prayer. Stay strong, Amy!
