Laid to rest
Today we laid Amy to rest. The service was glorious! The songs and message honored both Amy and God. The sheer number of people and the distances that they drove was a true witness to the impact Amy had on people. Last night, one well-wisher told me that they had been thinking about Amy and the fact that she was a substitute teacher and that our savior too was a substitute and a teacher. He was the ultimate substitute, the pure…blemish free sacrifice for our sins. And the lessons he not only taught his disciples but whole crowds, even towns of people, changed the face of the world.
She loved and was well loved in return and while I will miss her every morning when I awake and every evening when I lay my head on my pillow, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that one day I will see her again. On that day she will be waiting at the gates of heaven with her arms open wide and a grand smile on her face and after we embrace, she’ll say ‘Come…I’ll take you to see Jesus!’ Oh, what a spectacular day that will be!

Vince and family,
Yesterday's service as we all celebrated Amy's life on earth was the most uplifting and touching service I have ever been to. The beautiful songs and touching testimonies given by family and friends will alway be remembered. Amy will always be remembered. I know every ballgame or band concert we sit at we will think of Amy.
As we sat in Mass Sunday morning my thoughts were with Amy. The congregation sang a song at the end which was so fitting for Amy. My mom and I were brought to tears.
I think of you all every time I drive by your house. May you all find the strength you need to carry on each day. It appears that families have gone home for now. God Bless you all.
Have the kids call anytime they need a ride to school.
Love,
Gertie

Vince,
It was so good to hear you singing in church today . I could hear you and your heart from across the sanctuary. I pray that when you are ready you will think about coming back to the choir.
It may seem that the little things are just to hard now but by Gods grace they will get easier.
Please know that until that time we are praying for you.

hi vince and kids,
we are so thankful that we were able to be with you for amy's services. it was beautiful and it has changed our lives and our thinking. guess what our opening hymn was yesterday at church??? on eagles wings.... i knew amy was looking down and smiling on us. your kids are beautiful and remember what kevin said - if you would like to come stay with us for a weekend, we would love to have you. i know how busy things are with kids activities and such, but if you could get away, please do. thanks for the picture in the presentation - those are some precious memories for us at married housing. though we didn't have children of our own at the time, you and the other neighbors let us into your familes and we will always appreciate that. by the way, daniel and vinny had a good time playing in the pool the other night - amy would have loved to have watched them...
take care and we love you all,
paula and family

Vince, I look forward to meeting you when the service is here in Waterloo for Amy. I am simply amazed at the writings you have done and the love that you have for Amy and your family. I read your blog everyday, and look forward to seeing what you have written. Your writtings have inspired me to become a more appreciative and faith filled person. I cherish every moment I have with my Family, because I now realize that you just don't know when it is your time to go home.
Looking forward to meeting you!
